Ric was born in Connecticut and moved to southern California as a young boy.  After serving as a Peace Corps teacher in Ethiopia from 1967-69 he moved to the Bay Area.  He began his career in financial services on October 1, 1969 and has worked with successful individuals, families, and closely held businesses ever since.  He founded Financial Catalyst Group in 1977.  In 1980 he received a Master's Degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University. 

In 2000 Ric founded, along with his daughter Shaleece, The Fistula Foundation, serving as its chair until his resignation in 2005.  He helped the foundation raise over $5 million to help women in Ethiopia injured in childbirth.  He continues to be involved raising money for various causes.

Ric is a licensed insurance agent in several states and is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative with NFP Securities, Inc.  He is also a member of the Fusion Advisors Network.
